Comics setback...
Hey guys,

I know I said that I had more comics coming your way, but unfortunately I just got wind that gURL.com isn't in a position to take any more on until December. I'm sure it surprised them as much as it surprised me, and I assure you that it is through no fault of their own that this has come to pass.

However, I realize that everyone is waiting for comics, and I desperately want to get back to making them.

So, over the next few weeks/month, I will build an updater onto my site and promise you something, something comic-licious to read at least once a week.

I hope you will understand the delay and will not be too upset with either gURL or me for it.

Thank you,
Rachel Nabors

I think it would be great hosting them on your own site. It'll increase the value of your virtual real estate. ^_^

Hey, setbacks in the biz are nothing new.
It took me almost 10 years to get something published.

There are tons of examples of successful people getting rejected. Here are a few of them:
- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin was rejected for 17 years.
- No Thanks by poet e. e. cummings was rejected by 10 different publishers.
- Animal Farm by George Orwell was rejected by 22 different publishers.
- In 1962, Decca records had an audition by a British band. They rejected the Beatles because "Guitar music was on its way out."
- And to Think I Saw It on Mulberry Street was rejected by 23 publishers. The author was Dr. Seuss.
- The film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was rejected by Hollywood for 15 years. It would go on to win an Oscar for best picture.
- Doctor Ignaz Semmelweis was barred from practicing medicine in the 1850's. Reason: He suggested that the washing of hands before seeing patients would reduce infections.
- Walt Disney studios turned down artist Charles Schultz.

The point is there are always potholes on the road to success. I've been encountering them for years. Yet I still go on, and those that persist and are good usually find a venue in the end. Sometimes, it doesn't come until after death, as in the case of Rembrandt.
