Over the 7k mark with teeth!
It has been awhile since I updated the graph on the donation drive page. Sorry about the delay! Donations have slowed down a lot, and I'm spending all my time moving in and settling down with my fiance. But we're up to $7,190.34 USD!

Completely unrelated to the surgery, I managed to finally see a dentist about my one confirmed cavity, the one the dental student pointed out to me. Said student was iffy on a few of the other teeth. So I finally see a dentist (damn waiting lists), and it turns out I have five. It will cost about $1,000 to get them all taken care of. Does that seem extreme to you? It seems extreme to me. They aren't big cavities. It's weird. I take really good care of my teeth. But apparently I got the one from lifestyle changes when I moved out on my own and the others just threw in the towel.

God I hate my teeth.

I also hate having to get teeth worked on while trying to start a new job.

On the bright side, I can arrange for my dentist and orthodontist to be where I work. I will work with my new employers to find out when I can take some time to do these things, and hopefully within the next couple of months I'll get wired up!

Over $7,000! Wow! I know it's only a drop in the bucket but...holy crap.

I got self absorbed and forgot to add the code to my posts...I'm adding it to my most recent one. It's worth keeping it in folks' minds.

How's the job going? I can't remember if you've actually started or not...but if you have, hope it's good. :)

$1,000 doesn't sound weird to me at all. Before I got dental insurance, I paid about $1500 out of pocket when I first graduated from college. That was to fix about seven or eight cavities. I can't remember. I do remember for sure that it was in the $1500 range.

Fortunately for me, I haven't had a single new cavity since I've been settled in and stable here in NJ/NYC. I guess stress and major lifestyle upheavals really do beat up your body.

You'll be okay. I know it sounds expensive, but they'll probably schedule you for one filling at a time, over the course of several weeks--that's what happened for me, anyway. It gave me some buffer time in between paying for each filling.

It's going to be two appointments, one for each side.

I do believe I forgot to keep donating at some point. >.< MTAC, school, NANA Day, work, and starting new projects have me completely brain-fried. I guess I'll go look at my bank statement online in a day or so.
